At home, however, things are looking beautiful! Well, except for the colorado potato beetles humping on my taters. But even so, they're pretty. The Mason Bee house is winding down, with mixed results. I think I put them out to early, and the warm patch confused them. Still, I started with 6 tubes and ended up with 8. Not bad for freezing them in 19 degree weather then putting them out and having my apple tree not bloom at all this year. But next year there will be babies! And probably a few new tubes to supplement.

Your garden looks great. So much different than when I saw it weeks ago. So far I haven't had any potato beetles. I'm crossing my fingers.
Hey Daphne! You know, I went out to hand pick the tater beetles this morning, and they were gone! All I found was a little bit of eggs on the underside of leaves. What makes me crazy is that the potato beetles spread early blight, which is what my potatoes got last year! It might be time for row covers...
Great to see an update of your community garden plot and all you have done with it. I also want to commend you on your plant choices for the median. So many medians are planted with the same stuff--lots of salvia, geranium, silver lace or whatever it's called--and you know it's all going to die and get pulled out. Your perennial plans sound much more interesting.
Thanks, Sally! I just hope it survives the snow plows!
